Here’s something you may not know about yourself:
You have the ability to be disciplined.
It’s true! You have the ability to buckle down and get things done. You have the ability to stick to a routine and make things happen for yourself. You can do this. You have the power. You may doubt yourself, maybe because it’s been a while or you feel like you need external motivation to act like this. Here’s the thing: nothing can make us do anything. It’s only when we truly want something that it gets done. It’s totally up to you. Your decision making drives everything.
And discipline is the foundation of all confidence builders.
It’s with this understanding that you’ll also receive freedom. You’re not a slave to your genetics, your upbringing or any habit. You’re only subject to the limits you put on yourself. One of my mentors says that you’ll either have disciplines or regrets. And that is so true. So it’s all up to you. Make your choice.
And hey, discipline doesn’t have to hurt. When you make a choice and you make a plan to get there, make sure the steps are small and there are rewards along the way. That way, you have clear incentive to continue with your confidence builders and keep striving toward what you want. And instead of giving yourself the option of giving up or wussing out, ask yourself what kind of person you are. Are you the kind of person who finks out at the slightest hint of adversity? No! You’re the kind of person who sees what they want and takes it. You’re an incredible force of nature. You have the power!
