What I’m Wearing: Evening Networking Event

I love this cardigan. I can't help it.

Business-Casual evening fun networking/educational event style…

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find an outfit that is professional, beautiful, fun, and casual.  How did I do??

The Occasion: Wilmington Ignite – a networking and educational event designed to bring the community leaders together to improve the area and socialize.

What I’m Wearing:

Purple Cami – Macy’s
Embellished Cardigan – Macy’s
Trouser Jeans – Express
Flats – Payless (I swear, I own shoes that are from other stores, I just must wear the Payless shoes out more often…)
Ear rings – sterling silver, Boscov’s
Necklace – Philadelphia Diamond Co. – I won it at a holiday party at the Pyramid Club!

I’m Loving:

Details on the cardigan, shape of the trouser jeans, elongated leg line from pointy-toed flats which are actually comfortable, cool jewelry.

I’m Not Loving:

Fuzzy hair, not the right purple for me, funky lighting :-p.

What do you think?  Would you go to a networking meeting like this?  Have I gone too far towards casual?

  1. I think it depends on what type of networking meeting. If it’s a bunch of unemployed CFO’s, maybe too casual, but if it’s a bunch of self-employeed/arty/educational do-gooders, then you are perfect. Did you wear a scarf?
Just remember, the above comment is coming from a woman who wears snakeskin leggings to buy a dozen eggs at 7:30 in the morning.

Thanks! I must admit, it’s one of my least favorite shots I’ve got posted :-p.

It’s kind of amazing the more I think about it… I guess I’ve just been shopping there for so long that my closet’s just full of Payless Shoes, even though I feel like I shop for shoes other places as much – if not more – nowadays…

I did not wear a scarf. Should I have?
